Moove Your Hooves is the XCTF club's signature event and fundraiser distance race, open to the community. The course are a scenic 5K through iconic sections of campus, and proceeds go to our general fund, which keeps dues, uniform, and travel costs down throughout the year for all members. We pride ourselves on being one of the most affordable student organizations on campus--dues are just $60/year and both race fees and travel costs are heavily reduced for participating athletes--but we can only do it with the generous support of the Davis community. Each quarter, we host numerous fundraisers, but this race is our biggest event, and also the most fun!
Starting from A-Street Field, the course goes south along the edge of campus before winding through the arboretum. Runners will then head north on Dairy Road and head towards the heart of campus, along the quad, and back down to end on A-Street Field. Community racers start in Wave 1 and win prizes for beating Wave 2, club members dressed "cows" who begin with a 5-minute delayed start! Prizes are also issued by age category, and usually come from local sponsors, such as Davis Creamery. After the race, participants enjoy fresh food, including fruit, treats, recovery snacks, and beverages.
In 2026, we will be offering a t-shirt with registration! If you want a t-shirt make sure to sign up before April 3rd.
